How old does my child need to be to participate in BYCA cheerleading?
Children in grades 1 through 6 may participate in BYCA Football Cheerleading. In addition, they may elect to participate in Competition. Occasionally, kindergarteners are accepted as mascots, but there is a limit of one per squad and is at each coach’s discretion.
How many cheerleaders are permitted per squad?
Squads will be limited to 30-35 girls (depending on each coach's preference).
Does my child have to live in the Bridgetown School District to participate in BYCA?
No. However, returning cheerleaders will be given first priority. After that, priority will be given to children living in the district, then to children living outside the district.
Are there tryouts to make a squad?
No, there are no tryouts to make a squad. Everyone who registers is placed on a squad.
How do I register? What is the cost?
· Registration will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010.

Is payment due at the time of registration?
$100 is due at the time of registration. Half of the remaining balance is due at fittings, and the other half is due at the first practice.

How will I know when practices begin and what days practices will be held?
Practice days, times, and locations will vary for each squad based on the coach’s preference. The Head Coach will inform you of practice days/times/locations no later than the first week of July. We move inside for our competition practices, so days/times/locations will change once those practices begin. You will be given advance notice of those changes.
Where will practices be held?
Football practices are held at Dulles Elementary outside. Once competition practices begin, the squads move indoors and locations will vary. Normally we practice at one of the schools in the district, or a cheerleading gym. You will be given advance notice of locations.
Are practices mandatory?
Yes, practices are mandatory.
What should my child wear to practice?
Gym shoes, comfortable shorts, t-shirts. Inappropriate clothing/shoes are not permitted.
Can my child wear their hair down during practice?
No. Hair should be pulled up for practices with a rubber band. No hard barrettes or headbands are permitted.
Is jewelry permitted during the practices, games, or competition?
For the health and safety of all cheerleaders, no jewelry is permitted.
Will there be away games?
All normal season games will be at Rapid Run Middle School. Playoff/Superbowl game locations will vary and are not typically determined until the week of the actual game.
When do the football games begin?

How many competitions will my child participate in?
If you registered your child for Football and Competition, your child will compete in three (3) with the possibility of four (4) separate competitions. Dates of each competition are to be announced at a later time. Please watch the "Calendar of Events" for dates and locations".
